    Furman Samuel Ulmer LEXINGTON - Funeral services for Furman Samuel Ulmer, 82, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. Andrews Baptist Church with entombment in Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
    The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrews Baptist Church General Fund, 230 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC, 29210 or Habitat for Humanity, 209 S. Sumter Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.

    Mr. Ulmer was born February 15, 1930 in Varnville, SC and passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013. He was the son of the late Ottis and Eva Lee Ulmer. He was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Camp Kemo and Camp Discovery. He was a graduate of Clemson University, class of 1951, with a Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was an avid Clemson Fan. Mr. Ulmer retired from Southern Bell and SCETV.

    Mr. Ulmer is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathryn Pope Ulmer; son, Ravel Ulmer (Nancy) of Lexington; daughters, Angela Mathias and Renee Mundy of Lexington; grandchildren, Megan and Justin Ulmer, Whitney, Kayce and Andrew Mathias, Sarah Kathryn and Caroline Mundy and sister, Ruth Williams of Allendale.     Mrs. Vida H. Pope, ORANGEBURG

    Funeral services for Mrs. Vida H. Pope, 91, of 508 Cedar Lane, Orangeburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2007, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Ben Herlong and the Rev. David Williamson officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

    Mrs. Pope died Friday, March 23, at her residence.

    She was born November 3, 1915, in St. Charles, Va., a daughter of the late Evan and Maude Coffman Hale. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She retired from Phillips Shoe Store. Mrs. Pope was married to the late Ralph D. Pope.

    Survivors include four daughters, Mary Alice Pope of Orangeburg, Mrs. Sam (Kathryn) Ulmer of Lexington, Nancy Hutto and Gretchen Pope, both of Decatur, Ga.; six grandchildren, Ravel Ulmer, Renee' Mundy, Evan Hutto, Angela Mathis, Sheryl Hutto, and Wesley Hutto; seven great-grandchildren and a half-sister, Mattie Lou England of Indiana.

    Friends may call at the residence, 508 Cedar Lane, and at Thompson Funeral Home.

    Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg.

    Memorials may be sent to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1356 Amelia St., Orangeburg, SC 29115.

    Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.
