Mr. Warren C. Ridings, age 73, of Milner, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. Mr. Ridings was born January 29, 1942 in Pioneer, Tennessee, son of the late Crockett and Bertha Rutherford Ridings. He was a member of Meridian Sun Lodge No. 26, F.&A.M. and retired plant manager of Sybil Mills (Signal Mills) in Griffin. Mr. Ridings was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard. He loved genealogy and enjoyed fishing and sewing.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Teresa Ridings of Milner; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Jeff Stone of Barnesville; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Rachel Ridings of Milner; grandchildren, Taylor Stone, Logan Ridings, Hope Stone, Lisa Smith Bledsoe and her husband, Brian; Dylan Smith; four great-grandchildren, Bethany Fuller, Sage Bledsoe, Bradley Bledsoe, and Ryleigh Mae Smith; sisters and brothers, Gertrude Edmondson, Leroy Ridings, Earl Ridings, Wanda Carper, and David Ridings; numerous nieces and nephews; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Frank Ridings, Ted Ridings, Jay Ridings and Bessie Dozier

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at Breedlove Memorial Chapel from 6:00 to 9:00.

The family will receive friends Friday evening at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, Tennessee from 6:00 to 9:00. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Saturday at Coffee Funeral Home with Rev. Orbie Estep and Rev. Lawrence Fultz officiating. Interment will follow in the Keck Cemetery in Tazewell, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Warren Ridings to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.

Mrs. Teresa Mae Ridings, age 72, passed away Friday afternoon at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital.

She was born February 2, 1948, in Lone Mountain, Tennessee and resided in Milner, Georgia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren C. Ridings; parents, Walter and Pauline Jennings; and her sister, Jane Estep.

Mrs. Ridings adored being a Grandmother to her grandchildren and spending quality time with her family. She had many hobbies. Mrs. Ridings appreciated the beauty of nature and the outdoors. She was fond of gardening, spending time at the beach and watching cardinals.

She is survived in life by her children; daughter, Melissa Stone and her husband Jeff, and son, Anthony Ridings; grandchildren, Taylor Ross and her husband Nick, Logan Ridings, Hope Stone, Lily Ross; her siblings, Thomas, Houston, Paulette, Kathy, Ann, Debbie, Tony, Jeff and Tim; 32 nieces and nephews; 52 great-nieces and great-nephews.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. Following the visitation a service will be held at 3:00pm in the chapel with Reverend Chip Garrison officiating.

David Ridings was born December 1, 1847 and died July 30, 1926. He was married to Mary Tolmes and to this union was born 8 children, six living, 4 boys and 2 girls. Bro. Ridings professed faith in Christ and joined the Primitive Baptist Chruch at Pleasant Point and lived a faithful member. Mary Ridings, wife of David Ridings, aged 85 years, departed this life 1926.
