Died:
Delores Ann Eavey, age 68, of Conowingo, MD, passed away on June 19, 2020. She was born on August 8, 1951 in Lynch, KY to the late Ralph Phillips and Dorothy (Lockhart) Phillips.

Delores worked for Conowingo Elementary School for 28 years as a secretary, and was a lifetime member of 30 years at Pleasant View Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and loved being outdoors.

Delores loved going to the beach, eating crabs, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be known for her great cooking and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Delores is survived by her husband, Bill Eavey of Conowingo, MD; son, Ronnie Graybeal and his wife, Jennifer of Mountain Top, PA; two daughters: Teresa Miller and her husband, Wendell of Friendship, NY and Fallon Eavey of Conowingo, MD; three sisters, Donna Brown of Warwick, MD; Linda Johnson of Bartow, FL; and Karen Stutelberg of Perryville, MD; twenty-four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 7pm – 9pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 150 Downin Lane Port Deposit, MD 21904.

A celebration of Delores's life will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 11am at Pleasant View Baptist Church where friends and family may begin visiting at 10am.

Burial will follow at Sam's Creek Cemetery, New Windsor, MD 21776. Contributions may be made payable to Pleasant View Baptist Church and send in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248 Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Ralph married Dorothy Avis Lockhart on 21 Mar 1949 in Harlan Co, KY. Dorothy was born in 1930 in KY; died in 1998 in MD; was buried in Cecil Co, MD. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

William married Perdie Mae Coffman on 15 Apr 1916 in Lee Co, VA. Perdie (daughter of John Aaron Coffman and Lavina Stewart) was born on 17 Feb 1897 in Lee Co, VA; died on 3 Jul 1966 in Oakland Co, MI; was buried in Oakland Co, MI. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

John Aaron lived in Pocket along the North Fork of the Powell River. His house was on the opposite side of the river from the road and there was no bridge. This river is not really deep or wide in all places but to keep from having to wade it all the time, they used a small boat to get to the house. John was well known for growing watermelons , especially yellow watermelons which were unheard of in that area.
