2903	Hilda Mae Collins, 82 of Port Clinton, OH died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, OH. She was born August 19, 1930 in Union County, TN to the late L.H. and Hattie (Walker) Keck. On November 22, 1947 she married Robert "Pat" Collins. Hilda was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Sandusky, OH. She did a lot of volunteer work, could make a sewing machine sing, and was a great cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Foister, Ed, Paris, Dave, Jim, and Lee Keck; and sisters: Pheonie Rouse and Bertha Cole. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Funeral Home where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. 2904	Hobert C. Ridings, 82, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. He was born on February 20, 1936 to Andrew and Goldie (Parsons) in Keokee, Virginia. Hobert proudly served in the United States Army. He was a supervisor at National Power Flow in Elwood, Indiana for 33 years. After retiring, Hobert worked for the Noblesville School System. His hobby was a perfectionist wood craftsman. He is survived by his daughters, Rita (Mark) Livesay and Dawn (Roger) Rausch; son, Dennis Ridings; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ridings; sister, Ceonia "Sis" Woodard; and son, Gary Ridings. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville, with Pastor Lanny Smith officiating. A native of Laurel County, she was born Sept. 24, 1923, the daughter of the late Victor and Allie Hale. She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and was a school teacher for 36 years in the Laurel County School System. She was listed in “Outstanding Personalities of the South” in 1967 and in “Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America” in 1974. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, General “Hawk” Hale; and two brothers, Edsel Hale and Max Hale. Survivors include a daughter, Anita Beryl Mullins and husband, Carson, London; a son, Michael Darrin Hale and wife, Lynn, London; two sisters, Lisle Hale, London, and Janice O’Neal, Zollo, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jerry Mullins and wife, Angie, James Mullins and wife, Constantine, and Dalton Hale, all of London; and three great-grandchildren. 2923	It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Helen Lael Ellison Carpenter. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, April 19, 2023 at Blount Memorial Hospital after a long but courageous battle with health problems. She was 82 years old. She was born on April 14, 1941 in Blount County to Jeff (Big Racket) and Lela Ellison. She graduated from Everett High School in 1959. Helen married the love of her life, Junior Odell Carpenter on April 29, 1960. They lived in Blount County the 63 years of their busy but exciting lives together traveling many places until her health declined. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who blessed all her family and many, many friends with her compassion, selflessness and concern for others which influenced the lives of all she met. She was called “Aunt Hellie” by her nieces and nephews and many people who learned about this would say I wish I had an “Aunt Hellie.” Do you think she would adopt me? Her heart was so big. She was a generous, supportive and encouraging to all whose path crossed hers. She also joined the Order of the Eastern Star, Mary Blount Chapter in the 1960’s. She was very active and supporting, serving as worthy matron, secretary, and different star points. She and her husband attended Grand Chapter different times and she visited other OES chapters in Blount and Knox Counties filling in often to help and serve others. She has remained a member for over 50 years. She was saved at an early age, joined Brantley’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in 1953 where she remained a faithful member for 70 years, often serving as pianist. She graduated Fort Sanders School of Nursing in 1964. As a senior, she was voted most professional. She joined the staff at Blount Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse soon after. She was well known for her excellent nursing skills and very respected by her coworkers and patients. She retired in 2007 after a total of 41 years of service. The last 17 years she worked in occupational health at the Aluminum Company of America in Alcoa. The former years she was in house at Blount Memorial Hospital, well known for her excellent emergency room skills. She had a greeting card ministry, sending love, greetings, concern and well wishes to hundreds of people over more than 20 years. Her cards were filled with beautiful stickers, even the envelopes, to add her special touch. Cards were sent for every occasion to a big list of lucky recipients. And people responded by sending their love and well wishes back to her. All were blessed. Helen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jeff and Lela Mae Sharp Ellison and her infant sister, Rebecca. She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Junior Odell Carpenter; sister, Brenda Adams (Lawrence); brothers, James “Jim” Ellison (Charlotte) and Vonzel Whetzel (Virgie); nephews, Michael Adams (Becky), Shane Ellison (Karen); nieces Kim Ellison Clabo (Andy), Stephanie Adams, Allison Tipton; great nieces, Taylor Clabo, Emily Adams, Megan Adams, Savannah Jack, Meghan Jack, Isabella Ellison Olivia Ellison; great nephews, Ryan Adams, Drew Clabo, Peyton Ellison. 2924	It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Wilma Dean Sowders. Wilma passed away on February 27, 2023, at the age of 89 years. Wilma was born on April 21, 1933, in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, to Ernest Verlin Tolliver and Minnie Viola (Patton) Tolliver. Wilma attended Powell Valley High School and graduated in 1951. Wilma worked for several years as a teacher's aid at Ellen Meyers Elementary School, a seamstress at the LaFollette Shirt Factory, operated Sowders Trailer Park with her late husband, Homer Henry Sowders, and worked at Mason's Florist. Wilma was a long-time member of Gap Creek Baptist Church of Arthur, TN. Wilma was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Rodger Willis Tolliver, Ruby Mildred Tolliver-Brooks, and James Walter Tolliver. Wilma is survived by her siblings: Vernon 'Buddy' Tolliver of Middlesboro, KY, Madge Tolliver-Robinson of Knoxville, TN, and Nellie June Tolliver-Sanders of Harrogate, TN. Jack spent 10 years serving in the National Guard in Maryland and Illinois. He was a retired over the road truck driver and instructor, known by his CB handle as, “Smiling Jack.” He also worked as an EMT for Jonesville, Pennington Gap and St. Charles Rescue Squad. Jack was a family man and was an excellent husband, father and papaw. He helped numerous people in his community and was loved by many. Jack loved Bluegrass music and a good laugh. He loved attending the Message of Truth and Grace Fellowship Churches. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mossie Ridings Collins. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lydia Collins; two daughters, Theresa G. 2929	James “Jim” Doyle, 76, of Springfield passed away on February 24, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Jim was born December 22, 1941 in Carrollton, IL, the only child of the late Raymond Ellis Doyle and Mary Aileen Koehm Doyle. He married Martha “Marti” Maddox on April 2, 1982. Jim was a field engineer for NCR Corporation for almost 40 years. He was a member of First Christian Church for over 50 years. He is a former volunteer for the Sangamon County Rescue Squad. He built and flew his own airplane and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He was also a member of the Lincoln Land British Car Club and The Mild Hogs motorcycle club. Jim had many interests and hobbies, including restoring antique cars and motorcycles. He was devoted to his family. 2930	JAMES A. RHEA (1886-1957) James Arvy Rhea, 70, of 1201 Washington Blvd., West Portsmouth, died at Portsmouth Receiving Hospital at 6:05 a.m. today. He had been a patient there a week, after being moved from Smith-Everett Hospital. Born Aug. 10, 1886, in Woodbine, Ky., Mr. Rhea was a son of the late William D. and Nancy M. Green Rhea. He moved to Portsmouth in 1933, and had been a West Portsmouth resident for 15 years. Mr. Rhea married the former Grace Ratliff at Greenup, Oct. 27, 1922. 2931	James Alexandar Pickle was born June 11, 1908 in Smyth County, Groseclose, VA. He was the 4th child of six children, born to Charles Wiley & Dona Theodosia Yonts Pickle. He came to his Uncle John Yonts of rural Moorhead, when he was about 19 years old, because he didn't want to be a "gandy dancer" on the railroads. He met Irene Berg while she was teaching at the Sunny Slope School in Sec. 25 of Spring Valley Twp., that John Yonts children attended. They were married on February 28, 1934. They had one child, Jerald Alan Pickle born March 12, 1936 at Ute, Iowa. Through the years, Jim and Irene farmed near near Soldier, Pisgah, and the Soldier Country Church. 2938	James T. Ridings, 73, of White Hall, passed away Saturday, Oct, 18, 2008, at his residence. Born in White Hall on Feb. 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Jesse Thomas and Blanche L. Cain Ridings. On June 7, 1958, he married the former Helen Jean Capps and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Bob (companion, Wendy) Ridings of White Hall; a daughter, Sarah (husband, Eric) Heikes of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Jessica Ridings of Roodhouse and Katie and Will Heikes of Petersburg; a niece, Jane Ganyard of Dahlonega, Ga.; an aunt, Elsie Geers of White Hall; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Edward Ridings. Mr. Ridings attended Maple Grove Country Grade School, was a graduate of White Hall High School class of 1952 and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1957-1963. He was an honorary member of the White Hall Lions Club. He was former member of the North Greene School Board. Jim built many unique items including the White Hall City Council desk, a trophy case for North Greene High School and a showcase for Boyd Memorial Hospital. He had a tremendous gift for woodworking. He restored many antique pieces of furniture in the community. He enjoyed working with livestock and attending livestock sales at Woodson, attending lunches with his buddies and "loafing" at the White Hall F.S. with his friends. 2939	JAMES TILLER Funeral services for James Tiller, 76, resident of Rock Springs for 30 years, were held Monday at the Rogan mortuary chapel. Bishop William Gibbs of the L.D.S. church conducted the rites and burial was in Mountain View cemetery. Pallbearers were David Dillon of Green River, Aaron Deneley Sr., Louis Hunt, Grover Logan and James and William Uranker, all of Rock Springs. Mr. Tiller died Friday, December 28, in Sweetwater Memorial hospital. A heart attack caused his death and he had been seriously ill for 12 days. Born July 7, 1880 in Ashland, Ky., Mr. Tiller came to Rock Springs in 1926. He was married to Emma Grindle, sister of Fred Grindle of Rock Springs, Jan. 12, 1903 in Macon, Mo., and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in Rock Springs in 1953. She was born in Scott County, VA on November 16, 1941 to the late William and Gladys Dishner. She was a graduate of Lynn View High School, and Lincoln Memorial University where she graduated in 1963 with a B.A. in English. Mrs. Moore was retired from the Lee County School Board. She taught English at Pennington High School and at Lee High. She volunteered for the Ladies Auxillary at Lee Regional Hospital. She was a member of The First Christian Church in Pennington Gap. Jean enjoyed teaching her many students in English and Journalism, traveling with friends, and cheering for the University of Tennessee Big Orange. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald L. 2944	Jeffrey A. Baker, age 67, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 in his home. Jeffrey was born on December 10, 1954 in Muncie, Indiana, the son of the late John and Ruth (Everett) Baker. He married Kimberly Sprinkle on April 3, 1976 and they shared 45 years of marriage together before her death on May 16, 2021. Jeffrey worked in production at Active Products in Marion for over 20 years, and then at Atlas Foundry until his retirement. Jeffrey is survived by two sons, Jason Baker (Michele) of Ohio and Ryan Baker (Mandy) of Marion; a sister, Phyllis Vargo (Jim) of Schererville, Indiana; and grandchildren, Nolan, Trevor, Kylee, Dylan and Alyssa Baker. Hilda Mae Collins, 82 of Port Clinton, OH died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, OH. She was born August 19, 1930 in Union County, TN to the late L.H. and Hattie (Walker) Keck. On November 22, 1947 she married Robert "Pat" Collins. Hilda was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Sandusky, OH. She did a lot of volunteer work, could make a sewing machine sing, and was a great cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Foister, Ed, Paris, Dave, Jim, and Lee Keck; and sisters: Pheonie Rouse and Bertha Cole.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Funeral Home where the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Hobert C. Ridings, 82, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. He was born on February 20, 1936 to Andrew and Goldie (Parsons) in Keokee, Virginia.

Hobert proudly served in the United States Army. He was a supervisor at National Power Flow in Elwood, Indiana for 33 years. After retiring, Hobert worked for the Noblesville School System. His hobby was a perfectionist wood craftsman.

He is survived by his daughters, Rita (Mark) Livesay and Dawn (Roger) Rausch; son, Dennis Ridings; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ridings; sister, Ceonia "Sis" Woodard; and son, Gary Ridings.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville, with Pastor Lanny Smith officiating. It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Helen Lael Ellison Carpenter. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, April 19, 2023 at Blount Memorial Hospital after a long but courageous battle with health problems. She was 82 years old. She was born on April 14, 1941 in Blount County to Jeff (Big Racket) and Lela Ellison. She graduated from Everett High School in 1959. Helen married the love of her life, Junior Odell Carpenter on April 29, 1960. They lived in Blount County the 63 years of their busy but exciting lives together traveling many places until her health declined. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who blessed all her family and many, many friends with her compassion, selflessness and concern for others which influenced the lives of all she met. She was called “Aunt Hellie” by her nieces and nephews and many people who learned about this would say I wish I had an “Aunt Hellie.” Do you think she would adopt me? Her heart was so big. She was a generous, supportive and encouraging to all whose path crossed hers. She also joined the Order of the Eastern Star, Mary Blount Chapter in the 1960’s. She was very active and supporting, serving as worthy matron, secretary, and different star points. She and her husband attended Grand Chapter different times and she visited other OES chapters in Blount and Knox Counties filling in often to help and serve others. She has remained a member for over 50 years. She was saved at an early age, joined Brantley’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in 1953 where she remained a faithful member for 70 years, often serving as pianist. She graduated Fort Sanders School of Nursing in 1964. As a senior, she was voted most professional. She joined the staff at Blount Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse soon after. She was well known for her excellent nursing skills and very respected by her coworkers and patients. She retired in 2007 after a total of 41 years of service. The last 17 years she worked in occupational health at the Aluminum Company of America in Alcoa. The former years she was in house at Blount Memorial Hospital, well known for her excellent emergency room skills. She had a greeting card ministry, sending love, greetings, concern and well wishes to hundreds of people over more than 20 years. Her cards were filled with beautiful stickers, even the envelopes, to add her special touch. Cards were sent for every occasion to a big list of lucky recipients. And people responded by sending their love and well wishes back to her. All were blessed. Helen was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jeff and Lela Mae Sharp Ellison and her infant sister, Rebecca. It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Wilma Dean Sowders. Wilma passed away on February 27, 2023, at the age of 89 years. Wilma was born on April 21, 1933, in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, to Ernest Verlin Tolliver and Minnie Viola (Patton) Tolliver. Wilma attended Powell Valley High School and graduated in 1951. Wilma worked for several years as a teacher's aid at Ellen Meyers Elementary School, a seamstress at the LaFollette Shirt Factory, operated Sowders Trailer Park with her late husband, Homer Henry Sowders, and worked at Mason's Florist. Wilma was a long-time member of Gap Creek Baptist Church of Arthur, TN. Wilma was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Rodger Willis Tolliver, Ruby Mildred Tolliver-Brooks, and James Walter Tolliver.

Wilma is survived by her siblings: Vernon 'Buddy' Tolliver of Middlesboro, KY, Madge Tolliver-Robinson of Knoxville, TN, and Nellie June Tolliver-Sanders of Harrogate, TN.

Wilma is survived by her special niece and nephew, Sheila and Steve Mason.

Obituary for Jack Benny Collins Sr. Jack Benny Collins, Sr. of Jonesville, VA, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Jack spent 10 years serving in the National Guard in Maryland and Illinois. He was a retired over the road truck driver and instructor, known by his CB handle as, “Smiling Jack.” He also worked as an EMT for Jonesville, Pennington Gap and St. Charles Rescue Squad. Jack was a family man and was an excellent husband, father and papaw. He helped numerous people in his community and was loved by many. Jack loved Bluegrass music and a good laugh. He loved attending the Message of Truth and Grace Fellowship Churches. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mossie Ridings Collins. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lydia Collins; two daughters, Theresa G. Jack L. Lindsay, 87, of Wilmington, died at 2:04 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in Ohio Living Cape May.
He was born December 13,1931 in Clinton, Tenn., a son of Robert P. and Helen (Leinart) Lindsay.
Jack retired from Delco with 32 years of service. He was a member of the Millennium Lodge # 779 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and Antioch Shrine.
Survivors include his daughter, Sue (Tom) Davis of Battle Creek, Mich.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Jacquelyn was born in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of the late George Faulkner and Kathryn (Baldwin) Faulkner. On June 13, 1953, she married Edward C. Sprinkle. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2006.

JACQUELYN graduated from Marion High School in 1951. She worked at Auto Owners Insurance Company until her retirement in 1993. She was also a former volunteer at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center. She was a member of Grace Community Church, Marion. She was an avid sports fan, especially of Reggie Miller and the PACERS and Terry Bradshaw and the STEELERS.

Survivors include Son, Jan E. Sprinkle (Janet) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Daughter, Kimberly A. Baker (Jeffrey) of Marion, Indiana; Sister-In-Laws, Sharon Faulkner of Marion, Indiana, Mattie Lou England of Gas City, Indiana, and Vida Pope of Orangeburg, South Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Hopkins, Shannon Sweet, Jason Baker, Ryan Baker and Rachael Sprinkle; and 3 great-grandchildren, Nolan Baker, Carter Sweet and Jaelyn Cruzan.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, William R. Faulkner and Richard Faulkner.

James “Jim” Doyle, 76, of Springfield passed away on February 24, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center.

Jim was born December 22, 1941 in Carrollton, IL, the only child of the late Raymond Ellis Doyle and Mary Aileen Koehm Doyle. He married Martha “Marti” Maddox on April 2, 1982.

Jim was a field engineer for NCR Corporation for almost 40 years. He was a member of First Christian Church for over 50 years. He is a former volunteer for the Sangamon County Rescue Squad. He built and flew his own airplane and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He was also a member of the Lincoln Land British Car Club and The Mild Hogs motorcycle club. Jim had many interests and hobbies, including restoring antique cars and motorcycles. He was devoted to his family.

Jim is survived by his wife, Marti; daughter Bonnie (Todd) Kennedy of Springfield; sons Michael (Dianna) Doyle of St. Charles, MO, Terry (Paris) Doyle of Chatham and Kevin (Savanna) Doyle of Wheaton; and grandchildren Chad Kennedy, Kristen Kennedy and Kaiden Doyle. He is also survived by his uncles Roy Koehm of Greenfield and George Koehm of Seal Beach, CA; and several cousins. Survivors also include brothers-in-law Nathan (Lynda) Maddox and Matthew (Barbara) Maddox and sister-in-law Lenore (Doug) Sherwin.

Cremation will be accorded by Staab Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, 700 S. 6th Street, with Rev. Rick Irwin officiating. Visitation will be held preceding the memorial service from noon to 2 p.m. on March 3 at First Christian Church.

James Arvy Rhea, 70, of 1201 Washington Blvd., West Portsmouth, died at Portsmouth Receiving Hospital at 6:05 a.m. today. He had been a patient there a week, after being moved from Smith-Everett Hospital.

Born Aug. 10, 1886, in Woodbine, Ky., Mr. Rhea was a son of the late William D. and Nancy M. Green Rhea. He moved to Portsmouth in 1933, and had been a West Portsmouth resident for 15 years.

Mr. Rhea married the former Grace Ratliff at Greenup, Oct. 27, 1922.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, John Franklin of Chicago, Charles Robert and James David, both at home; a sister, Mrs. Rosie Lowe of Corbin, Ky.; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Children by a previous marriage are two sons, Claude and Chester Rhea, both of Middletown, and a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Wright of Middletown.

Friends may call at the residence after 6 tonight. Arrangements are under the direction of Piatt Funeral Home.

James Alexandar Pickle was born June 11, 1908 in Smyth County, Groseclose, VA. He was the 4th child of six children, born to Charles Wiley & Dona Theodosia Yonts Pickle. He came to his Uncle John Yonts of rural Moorhead, when he was about 19 years old, because he didn't want to be a "gandy dancer" on the railroads. He met Irene Berg while she was teaching at the Sunny Slope School in Sec. 25 of Spring Valley Twp., that John Yonts children attended. They were married on February 28, 1934. They had one child, Jerald Alan Pickle born March 12, 1936 at Ute, Iowa. Through the years, Jim and Irene farmed near near Soldier, Pisgah, and the Soldier Country Church. Then they farmed the Perrin Farm on the Soldier River in Spring Valley Twp. for about 30 years.

James C. Capps, 78, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on June 29, 1985.

Mr. Capps was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 19, 1905. He moved to Tucson from the Akron, Ohio area in 1976. While in Akron, he worked as an operating engineer, working on projects including the Akron/Canton Airport. Mr. Capps was a Mason and member of the Operating Engineers.

He leaves his wife, Betty (Dooley); daughters, Irene Clark of Winter Park, FL, Iona Newhouse and Donna Jones, both of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Glen C. of Berlin Center, Ohio, and John L. of North Jackson; brothers, Alfred of Suffield, Ohio, and Lawrence of Torrance, CA; plus several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

James Elmer Hyrne, 89, of Vanceburg, Ky., died Thursday, March 26, 1992, at a Maysville, Ky., hospital after a long illness.

Born Sept. 22, 1902, in Stricklett, Ky., a son of the late Thomas and Sarah Kegley Hyrne, he was a retired farmer.

Preceded in death by his wife, Dora M. Fetters Hyrne, on Jan. 18, 1990, he is survived by a son, James W. Hyrne of Wakesman; a daughter, Maxine Lewis of Vanceburg; two half-brothers, Ora Shaw and Alva Shaw, both of Lorain; three half-sisters, Edith Shaw of Virginia, Nellie Shaw of Portsmouth, and Flora Dunigan of Vanceburg; nine grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Hyrne and Ernest Hyrne.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, with the Rev. Carl Stanfield officiating, and interment in Mount Tabor Cemetery in Ribolt, Ky. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. until the services Sunday.

James Morgan Oney , 96, of Caddo Mills, TX, passed away on January 30, 2020. James was born February 10, 1923 to Henry and Eliza Oney, in Slaton, Texas. He married JoAnn Talkington on April 29, 1955, they were happily married for 58 years. James was a devoted Christian and enjoyed reading the bible every day. He was always family first and loved his time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed wood working, going fishing, watching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.

He retired from the railroad in Colorado, and then worked at several places as a machinist.

James is survived by his children, James Oney and wife Pat and Jo Carol Duncan and husband David; Grandchildren, Kristy Amelia and husband Mike, Timmy West and wife Tiffany, J.T. Oney, Akeisha Randolph and husband Robert, Mandy Erwin and husband Jared; Great Grandchildren, Charmayne Randolph, Bryson Amelia, Austin Randolph, Taylea West, Sean Amelia, Hunter Hopkins, Rylan Erwin, Avery Erwin; Sister, Mary Gregory; numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of loving relatives and friends.

Harrogate, Tenn. - James Ralph Billingsley, 68, passed away Wednesday Nov. 15, 2006, at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital.

He was born Oct. 17, 1938, at Fonde, the son of the late John Billingsley Jr., and Mabel Ridings Billingsley who survives.

He professed his faith in Christ at the Pump Springs Baptist Church in July 1973. He was a member of the Greers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from the Mountain Drive Coal Company.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son; Tommy Billingsley; and one brother; Ronnie Billingsley.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Laura “Lurlean” Billingsley, Harrogate; mother, Mabel Billingsley, Harrogate; sisters, Dixie Billingsley and Gloria Taylor, Harrogate; sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Diana Billingsley, Harrogate, Harrogate, David and Teresa Billingsley, Harrogate, and Micheal and Amy Billingsley, Tazewell, Tenn.; grandchildren, Christopher and Sherry Billingsley Tazewell, Tenn., Kevin Billingsley, Jerrica Billingsley, Jordan Billingsley, Morgan Billingsley, and James Billingsley, all of Harrogate, Tenn., Mikey Billingsley and Marissa Billingsley, both of Tazewell, Tenn.; great-grandson, Jacob Billingsley, Tazewell, Tenn.; and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.

DRYDEN, Va. — Jimmy Ridings of Dryden, Va. was born in Pennington Gap, Va. on Sunday, June 3, 1956 and passed away Saturday (April 11, 2009) at his home at the age of 52 years.

He had lived in Lee County, Va. most of his life and was a disabled coal miner.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Albert Ridings, Sr.

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Barbara Sue Ridings of Dryden, Va.; four brothers, Randy Ridings and wife, Teresa of Pennington Gap, Va., Johnny Ridings and wife, Lisa of Hartsville, S.C., Rodney Ridings and wife, Grace of Gray and Charles Ridings, Jr. of Dryden, ,Va.; one sister, Charlene Martin and husband, Gary of Dryden, Va.; nine nephews and nieces and two great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at Province Funeral Home, Pennington Gap, Va.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home sanctuary with the Rev. Craig Bedenbender officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, Va. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.

James T. Ridings, 73, of White Hall, passed away Saturday, Oct, 18, 2008, at his residence. Born in White Hall on Feb. 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Jesse Thomas and Blanche L. Cain Ridings. On June 7, 1958, he married the former Helen Jean Capps and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Bob (companion, Wendy) Ridings of White Hall; a daughter, Sarah (husband, Eric) Heikes of Petersburg; three grandchildren, Jessica Ridings of Roodhouse and Katie and Will Heikes of Petersburg; a niece, Jane Ganyard of Dahlonega, Ga.; an aunt, Elsie Geers of White Hall; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Edward Ridings.

Mr. Ridings attended Maple Grove Country Grade School, was a graduate of White Hall High School class of 1952 and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1957-1963. He was an honorary member of the White Hall Lions Club. He was former member of the North Greene School Board. Jim built many unique items including the White Hall City Council desk, a trophy case for North Greene High School and a showcase for Boyd Memorial Hospital. He had a tremendous gift for woodworking. He restored many antique pieces of furniture in the community. He enjoyed working with livestock and attending livestock sales at Woodson, attending lunches with his buddies and "loafing" at the White Hall F.S. with his friends.

Funeral services for James Tiller, 76, resident of Rock Springs for 30 years, were held Monday at the Rogan mortuary chapel. Bishop William Gibbs of the L.D.S. church conducted the rites and burial was in Mountain View cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Dillon of Green River, Aaron Deneley Sr., Louis Hunt, Grover Logan and James and William Uranker, all of Rock Springs.

Mr. Tiller died Friday, December 28, in Sweetwater Memorial hospital. A heart attack caused his death and he had been seriously ill for 12 days.

Born July 7, 1880 in Ashland, Ky., Mr. Tiller came to Rock Springs in 1926. He was married to Emma Grindle, sister of Fred Grindle of Rock Springs, Jan. 12, 1903 in Macon, Mo., and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in Rock Springs in 1953.

Survivors are his widow of 811 Center street, two sons, Clarence and William Tiller, both of Rock Springs; one daughter, Mrs. Irene Williams of Macon, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, also survive, Mrs. Bessie Grimes of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Ida Brammer who lives in Florida.

Janice Mae Bohling, 80 years old of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, November 4, 2018, at her home.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, November 9, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.

Janice was born July 15, 1938, near Jesup, the daughter of Clifford William Comfort and Thelma Rose (Clime) Comfort. She graduated from Jesup High School in 1956. On April 20, 1958, she was united in marriage to Larry Lee Bohling at the First United Methodist Church in Jesup. Except for a short time after their marriage Larry and Janice lived in Jesup. Janice worked 20 years at Schares Grocery Store, and also over 20 years at the Buchanan County Courthouse in the Clerk of Court office. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.

Mrs. Bohling is survived by one son James (Shyann) Bohling of Jesup; three grandchildren, Devin (Becky) Bohling, Megan Bohling and Mason Bohling; two great granddaughters, Riley and Hailey Bohling; one sister, Jane (Ronald) Harting of La Porte City, IA; and a special friend, Richard Ortner of Jesup. Janis Faye Plagge (nee Kincaid) Beloved Wife of Michael Raymond Plagge, Mother of James Joseph Plagge (Shawnda) and Michael Robert Plagge (Lindsay) Grand Mother of Lane Joseph Plagge (Lauren) died Sunday May 3rd, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Janis is survived by her dear Mother Nora Bates, Sisters Nancy Patrick (Edgar) and Vicky Eltzroth (Tod) and many Nieces and Nephews. She also survived by her loving friends Jean Norris (Bill) their Daughter Reece Norris and Jackie Griffis.
Janis was proceeded in death by her Father James Edward Kincaid, her brother James Gordon Kincaid and her sister Karen Lynn Kincaid.
Due to Covid-19 Funeral arrangements and services will be announced when able.

Jean D. Moore of Pennington Gap, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, TN after a brief illness. She was born in Scott County, VA on November 16, 1941 to the late William and Gladys Dishner. She was a graduate of Lynn View High School, and Lincoln Memorial University where she graduated in 1963 with a B.A. in English. Mrs. Moore was retired from the Lee County School Board. She taught English at Pennington High School and at Lee High. She volunteered for the Ladies Auxillary at Lee Regional Hospital. She was a member of The First Christian Church in Pennington Gap. Jean enjoyed teaching her many students in English and Journalism, traveling with friends, and cheering for the University of Tennessee Big Orange. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald L. Moore in 2007. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Todd Moore of Gray, TN, Anthony Lee Moore of Pennington Gap, VA. One brother, W.O. Dishner, Jr. of Gray, TN. Several nieces, nephews,cousins and a host of friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 1, from 5 until 7:00 p.m. at Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 in funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Richards officiating. Committal graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Kingsport. Those attending are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 11:45. Flowers will be accepted, the family suggest that memorials will be made to the First Christian Church 41481 West Morgan Avenue Pennington Gap, VA. Jeffrey A. Baker, age 67, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 in his home.

Jeffrey was born on December 10, 1954 in Muncie, Indiana, the son of the late John and Ruth (Everett) Baker. He married Kimberly Sprinkle on April 3, 1976 and they shared 45 years of marriage together before her death on May 16, 2021.

Jeffrey worked in production at Active Products in Marion for over 20 years, and then at Atlas Foundry until his retirement.

Jeffrey is survived by two sons, Jason Baker (Michele) of Ohio and Ryan Baker (Mandy) of Marion; a sister, Phyllis Vargo (Jim) of Schererville, Indiana; and grandchildren, Nolan, Trevor, Kylee, Dylan and Alyssa Baker. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Sherrick.

He enjoyed going to the Ducktail Run with his 1972 Ford LTD Convertible. He was also an avid NASCAR fan especially of driver Chase Elliott, and loved watching Indiana Hoosiers Basketball.

A visitation and funeral service was held on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Pastor Mark Hummel officiated.

Jerry D. Reach, age 85 of Schererville, IN formerly of Munster, IN passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020.

He is survived by his children, Jeff (Brenda) Reach, Michael (Marianne) Reach and Julie (Jeff) Junk; grandchildren, Melissa, Melinda, Duncan, Tricia and Rachel; great granddaughter, Juniper; sister, Jane Abbott; and brother, John Reach.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Carrie Reach; and wife, Patricia Reach.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at KISH FUNERAL HOME, 10000 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN with Reverend Michael Yadron officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Schererville, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday, at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service.

Jerry was very involved with the St. Thomas More Catholic Church Community and was a member of the Munster Lion's. He had successful career as computer programmer in the steel industry.

Jerry was an avid golfer and a faithful friend and will be dearly missed.

Jerry R. Williams, age 74, of Lansing IL, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2003.

He leaves his wife Lucia; daughter Eve E. Poirier; son-in-law, Michael Conroy; grandchildren Renee, Ryan, Todd, and Robert; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Dakota, Cassidy, and Kayle.

Preceded in death by daughter Denise Conroy and son-in-law Daniel Poirier.

Jewell "J.D." Ridings, age 95, of Dayton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Laurelwood Senior Living. J.D. was born in Somerset, Kentucky on March 27, 1923 to the late Joseph and Lilly Ridings.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Victor Ridings; sister, Wilhemina Wells. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Steve) Kramer; grandson, Steven (Tracey) Eric Kramer; granddaughter, Kathleen Kramer; grandson, Mark (Lisa) Kramer; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Madeline, Liam, and Nate Kramer. J.D. was a devoted husband, father, papaw and all around "Mr. Fix It." He was always willing to help family or friends with anything and even spent time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. He was a proud WWII Navy Veteran.
