- PENNINGTON GAP, Va. - Bobby Gene "Dicky'' Ridings, Sr., 45, Ely Creek community, Route 1, died Monday (May 28, 2001) at Holston Valley Medical Center.
Born in St. Charles, Va., he had been a resident of Lee County, Va. his entire life. He was a retired coal miner, and of the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James "Snook'' and Bernice Parsons Ridings.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Ridings, of the home; one son, Bobby Gene "Bubba'' Ridings Jr., of the home; one daughter, Stephanie Kluck, of the home; two grandchildren, Brian Austin Kluck and Jordan Dakota Kluck; five brothers, Bill Ridings and wife, Linda, Eddie Ridings and wife, Linda, Charles Ridings and wife, Mary, Rick Ridings and wife, Marcie, all of Jonesville, Va., and Wayne Ridings and wife, Alice, St. Charles, Va.; three sisters, Barbara Tester and husband, Charlie, Jonesville, Va., Hazel Tester and husband, Brackett, Dayton, Ohio, and Patsy Brooks and husband, Eddie, Jonesville, Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Province Funeral home, Pennington Gap, Va.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the sanctuary of the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Estep officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Va.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to go to the cemetery.
