Betty Rhea Byrd Ridings, 80, passed away November 11, 2015, at Portneuf Medical Center.
Betty was born November 27, 1934 , the daughter of Georgia and Ray Byrd.
On May 11, 1956, at the age of 21, she married Clyde Ridings in Angola, Indiana. They made their home in Aurora, Colorado, prior to moving to Pocatello in Dec. 1985.
In 1957, they had their first child, Steve Ray Ridings. In 1958, their second child was born, Michael Roody Ridings. In 1960, the third child was born, Bruce David Ridings. In 1961, Kimberly Jill Ridings was born. The fifth child was born in 1965, Timothy Keith Ridings. The sixth and final child was born in 1966, James Drew Ridings. Betty has 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In 1987, she graduated with a ISU Associates in marketing and management. She loved to travel, drink coke cola & loved to shop. She was a home maker and loved to play bingo and liked fuzzy socks. Betty was a Mariners fan and loved sweets, raspberry sticks, and cowtails.
Most of all she was a southern bell, all the grandkids knew better than to call her grandma, it was "memaw."
Survivors include her 3 sons, Michael Ridings of Oregon; Steven Ridings, of Washington; James (Lisa) Ridings, of Pocatello; 13 grandchildren, Danielle Ridings of Washington; Jeremy (Kristi) Ridings,Justin Ridings, of California; Michael Ridings of Oregon; Matthew (Emily) Baker of Pocatello; Ashley Lawrence of Utah; Timothy (Breanna) Frank of Pocatello; Rachel Ridings, of Colorado, Megan James, Nichols and Jessy Ridings of Pocatello; Brendyn (Chelsie) Findley of Pocatello; 13 great grandchildren, Jaysic, Jonis, Jerick & Aburey of California; Ruger and Lilly of Pocatello; Destiny, Levi, Shalynn and Aurora of Utah; Adyn, Sage & Zyane.
Meomorial services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Gate City Christian Church (202 W. Siphon Rd.) Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
