- SIDNEY - Dewey O. Davis Sr., 88, of Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney, died at 11:47 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on June 27, 1924, in Powells Valley, Tenn., to the late William and Doxie (Marcie) Davis. Dewey was married to Beulah Ridings. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2006.
Dewey is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Charles and Sandra Osborne, Findlay; one daughter-in-law: Linda Davis, widow of the late Dewey O Davis, Jr., Ann Arbor, Mich.; one grandson: Jeff Osborne, Findlay; one granddaughter: Tina Smith, Hoschton, Ga.; one sister: Sadie Gilbert, Onsted, Mich.; and six great grandchildren.
Dewey proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during World War II. He was a retired minister for the Church of God. Dewey loved to go deer hunting and do woodworking.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, OH 45365 with the Rev. Terry McBeath officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens. Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
