- James Ralph Billingsley
Harrogate, Tenn. - James Ralph Billingsley, 68, passed away Wednesday Nov. 15, 2006, at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital.
He was born Oct. 17, 1938, at Fonde, the son of the late John Billingsley Jr., and Mabel Ridings Billingsley who survives.
He professed his faith in Christ at the Pump Springs Baptist Church in July 1973. He was a member of the Greers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from the Mountain Drive Coal Company.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son; Tommy Billingsley; and one brother; Ronnie Billingsley.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Laura “Lurlean” Billingsley, Harrogate; mother, Mabel Billingsley, Harrogate; sisters, Dixie Billingsley and Gloria Taylor, Harrogate; sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Diana Billingsley, Harrogate, Harrogate, David and Teresa Billingsley, Harrogate, and Micheal and Amy Billingsley, Tazewell, Tenn.; grandchildren, Christopher and Sherry Billingsley Tazewell, Tenn., Kevin Billingsley, Jerrica Billingsley, Jordan Billingsley, Morgan Billingsley, and James Billingsley, all of Harrogate, Tenn., Mikey Billingsley and Marissa Billingsley, both of Tazewell, Tenn.; great-grandson, Jacob Billingsley, Tazewell, Tenn.; and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Creech Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Daniels and the Rev. Casper “Tip” Moore presiding. Music will be provided by his grandchildren and the Greers Chapel Church Singers.
Burial will follow in the Billingsley Farm Cemetery on Greers Chapel Road. Pallbearers will be Jason Micheals, Christoper Billingsley, Kevin Billingsley, Jordan Billingsley, Bobby Seabolt, Travis Frasure, Tory Hubbard and Jason Seabolt. Honorary pallbearers will be Mikey Billingsley, James Billingsley, Jacob Billingsley, Junior Hatfield, Clyde Sandefur Jr., Clyde Sandefur Sr., Bill Middleton, Vince Price, Paul Wilder and Riley Good.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Creech Funeral Home, Middlesboro, which is in charge of all arrangements.
