Mrs. Cuie Tuttle Hale died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. V.L. Clark, in Corbin, July 9, 1946 following a heart attack. She was born Feb. 22, 1876 and was a daughter of Joseph and Patience Sasser Tuttle. she had been in ill health a number of years and became critically ill about a month ago at her home on Route 1 and was removed to the Smith Hospital by the Kincaid Funeral home where she partically recovered and was removed to her daughter's home. She was married to Mr. Thomas Hale, son of the late Dr. J.T. Hale, Bef. 23, 1893 at Bush who together with five daughters, Mrs. W.H. Greene, London; Mrs. J.R. Wilkerson and mrs. V.L. Clark, Corbin, Mrs. T.J. Greene, Gadsden, AL; and mrs. Roy perry, Whitley City and a son, Ray Hale of London, survive her, four sons and a daugther having preceded her in death. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. S.W. Asher, Lexington; Mrs. E. Hale, Medford, OR; and Mrs. C.C. Harkelroad, Fariston and one brother, Mr. J.R. Tuttle of Jacksonville, FL; a n umber of grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She united with the Baptist church several years ago and lived a devoted Christian life to the end. Funeral services were conducted by the Revs. Tuttle and Cole at Blackwater cemetery on Thursday July 11 at 1:30 p.m. Interment was by the Kinkaid Funeral Home. Those present from a distance were Mr and Mrs S.W. Asher, Lexington; Mrs. Sewell Tuttle and Mrs. Sudie Tuttle, Lexington; Mr and Mrs D.C. Stephens of Oak Ridge, TN; Mr and Mrs J.R. Tuttle, Jacksonville, FL; Mr and Mrs T.J. Greene, Mr and Mrs Harold A. Greene and Mr. Hathern Green, Gadsden, AL.
