  	Lula Mayes, age 90 of Speedwell, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was born in Speedwell, TN on February 22, 1928, daughter of the late Fate McNew and Della (Williams) McNew. Lula was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by husband Ulys (Doc) Mayes. Survivors include Larry (Joan) Mayes and Daryl (Linda) Mayes, grandchildren Emily and Makayla Mayes, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, April 6, 2018, from 6 PM until 8 PM at Reece Funeral Home Valley Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 10 AM with David Roland officiating. Burial will follow in the McNew Cemetery.
