  	OCEANA, W.Va. — Betty Joyce Garrett, 88, of Oceana, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Trinity Healthcare of Logan. A daughter of the late Ewell Garrett (Deceased) and Kyla Tomlinson-Garrett (Deceased), she was born April 19, 1927, at Mallory, WV. Betty was a member of the Oceana United Methodist Church, where she served as Treasurer. She retired after working many years with the late Dr. Shannon in Oceana. Surviving are a brother, Jerry Garrett of Moneta, VA; a sister, Peggy Market of Quincy, IL, and many nieces and nephews. Betty's special friends from her church and within her community were especially important to her. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 16, at Evans Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Ron Acord officiating. Interment will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.
