- Lena Ophelia Sons, 94, passed into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in Denton, Texas, surrounded by her family. The daughter of Osa and Maybelle (Coffman) Burns, Ophelia was born on January 22, 1927, in Pilot Point, Texas.
Ophelia was a graduate of Sanger High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sanger. On September 3, 1945, she married Floyd Sons in Sanger, Texas, where they made their home and raised their family. Ophelia was an administrative assistant with Moore Business Forms for over 30 years.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Coker Funeral Home in Sanger. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Sanger.
Ophelia was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her parents; three sisters, Jewel Lawson, Fay Owens, and Helen Allison; and two brothers, Fagan Burns and Vernie Burns. She is survived by two sons, Richard Lewis Sons and wife Susan of Sanger and Charles David Sons and wife Dana, also of Sanger. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
