- =Ellen was the daughter of the late Samuel and Louella Minton.
Ellen was a loving and devoted mother and wife who always put her family first. Her kindness, her strength, her faith, her love for life and will to live were a few of her impeccable qualities. Ellen stood strong when it seemed everyone and everything was falling apart. Her ability to love, forgive, laugh and live was amazing. She always tried to lead by example.
Ellen’s life was a testimony to all who knew her. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 King James Version (KJV) "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Louella Minton; her sister, Madeline Minton; brothers: Ronnie Minton and Willard Minton; and daughter-in-law, Tanya Lawson.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband of 52 years, R. E. Shackleford; her devoted children: David Shackleford, Jerry Shackleford, Pam Shackleford-Sulfridge and husband, Steve Sulfridge, all of Middlesboro, KY; grandchildren: Amanda Shackleford, Brionna Wilson, and Aaron Shackleford; great-grandchildren: Emma Jones and Haylee Jones; her sisters and brother who she cherished: Pauline Givens, Joyce Thacker, Linda (Sonny) Short and Wilburn (Marleen) Minton; Candy Walton, daughter-in-law, who she loved like her own; special friend, Cheryl Howard; special four-legged family members: Jynxy Poo, Bella Sue and MeMe, and many nieces, nephews and other beloved family members and friends.
Special thanks to all of the medical providers who have provided services to Ellen throughout the years.
