- Marvin D. Barker age 78 of Colfax IL passed away at 11:30 PM on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington IL. His funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Pastor Tom Krieger will be officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington, IL. Visitation will be 5:00 PM-7:00 PM Wednesday and from 12 Noon -1:00 PM Thursday at the memorial home. The family suggests memorials be made to Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association, Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Marvin was born February 10, 1940 in Bloomington, IL the son of Jesse and Lucille Sears Barker. He married Lois Lilienthal on February 28, 1959 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Colfax, IL. She survives.

Pamela (Scott) Hardman, Clinton, IL, 4 granddaughters, Sarah Furr, Clinton, IL,
Courtney (Zander) Wyatt, Nashville, TN, Brittany (fiancé Andrew Braun) Feger,
Washington, IL, Katie (Mitch) LaHood, East Peoria and 1 great-granddaughter, Emmie Furr, Clinton, IL.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Orville and Charles Barker and1 sister, Virginia Kaufman.
Marvin had a passion for farming, he had farmed in the Colfax, Cooksville and Saybrook area for many years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Colfax, IL. Marvin enjoyed antique tractor drives. He was a member of the McLean County Farm Bureau.
