  	Marshall Lemual Russell was the son of John and Juda Russell. He was born about 1834 in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. Marshall Lemual Russell was united in marriage to Talitha Cumi Hale on August 13, 1865 in London, Laurel County, Kentucky. They were married at the home of Talitha's parents, Sebastian Cabot Pitman "Bassie" Hale and Lucinda (Woolum) Hale. Marshall and Talitha Cumi had at least 10 children together: (1) Mary Jane (Russell) Richardson, (2) Louisa A. (Russell) Sasser, (3) Lucinda (Russell) Root, (4) Elizabeth Russell (twin/infant death), (5) Isabel Russell (twin/infant death), (6) John Pitman Russell, (7) James Marshall Russell, (8) Sarah (Russell) Richardson, (9) Cumi Talitha "Cuma" (Russell) Vandegrift, and (10) Maggie Russell. About 1888, Marshall & Talitha Russell and family moved west and settled near Pickrell, Gage County, Nebraska. Two years later they moved to Arkansas where they lived for about 10 years. It was here that Marshall Lemual Russell passed away about 1898. After his death, Talitha and most of the family moved back to Nebraska and located near Armour. His wife, Talitha Cumi "Cuma" (Hale) Russell, is buried at Pleasant View Cemetery in Pickrell, Gage County, Nebraska.
