  	Clydia Ophelia Hendren, age 88, of Oak Ridge, died unexpectedly, Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Methodist Medical Center. She was born October 5, 1924 in Campbell County, TN, one of eight children born to Aaron T. and Florence Bailey Nelson. Mrs. Hendren retired from the Department of Energy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Julius Hendren, January 15, 2008, who was also a retiree of the Department of Energy. She and her husband were both long-time members of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. She had been active on many church committees and church activities. Mrs. Hendren participated in many area groups for professional women. She was an avid bridge player in many circles. She also enjoyed monthly lunches with graduates of Coal Creek High School. She is survived by brother, Aaron J. Nelson of Jacksboro; sister, Bonnie N. Farmer of Knoxville and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, including local niece, A. Rebecca Wood of Knoxville. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 12 – 2pm at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will begin at 2pm with Rev. Tim Borchert officiating and Dr. Larry Dipboye assisting. The interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks that any memorials be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetic Association or Alzheimer's TN.
