- Janet E. Asher, 74, of Andrews passed away on October 3, 2021 at her residence. Janet loved being a grandma and spending time with her grandchildren. She especially loved camping with her family.
Janet was born on February 17, 1947 in London, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Otis and Anna Marie (Thomas) Bolten.
She was united in marriage to Damon Asher on December 28, 1963 in London, Kentucky. Damon survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters: Teresa (Doran) Harshbarger of Huntington, Judy (Jeff) Hemminger of Elkhart; four brothers: Charles Bolten of Peru, Don Bolten, Merle Bolten, Wayne Johns all of Georgia; four sisters: Louise Dixon of Florida, Irene Cook, Della Johns both of Georgia, Mary Sizemore of Kentucky; six grandchildren: Alicia King, Kimberly Hemminger, Tiffany Akers all of Huntington, Kraig Borders, Steven Hemminger, Jessy Hemminger all of Elkhart; seven great grandchildren: Makayla King, Mason Geyer, Brianna Geyer all of Huntington, Ali Reece of Andrews, Ethan Crouse of Bluffton, Maria Thomas of Wabash, Peighten Hemminger of Elkhart; two great-great grandchildren: Zaleigh King and Reece Wright.
She was preceded in death by a son: Damon Asher, Jr.; a daughter: Kathy Asher; two sisters: Ruth Eldridge, Sheila Johns and a brother: William Johns.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. We will be following the CDC's and Indiana's guidelines.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
