He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Dora Carter of the home, one son Michael Shannon and wife Betty Jo of Jonesville, VA one daughter Leshia Carter of Pennington Gap, VA and two grandsons that was his world Austin Hornby and Jacob Calhoun and numerous nieces and nephews family and friends.
