    MELISSA "MISSY" RIDINGS, 40, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital. Born Sept. 8, 1970, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Howard and Jan Ridings, they survive. She dedicated her life to helping others. A nurse for over 20 years, she was compassionate, loving and touched the lives of countless people throughout her lifetime. Loved by all who knew her, she brightened every room she walked into. She was devoted to her two nieces, Rachel and Abby and her great-nephew, Brandon. The bond she shared with her nieces and nephew was one they will cherish forever. She was always there for those she loved and was a true friend to all who knew her. She treasured her dog, Junior, and was always up for a new adventure. She loved to travel and enjoyed life to the fullest. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to Loretta Lynn's music and was a true fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Her greatest joy was spending time with her nieces and nephew who called her "MeMe." Also surviving are her sister, Tammy (Darrell) Henline; nieces, Rachel (Ricky) Igney and Abby Henline; great-nephew, Brandon Igney; and aunts, Janice and Patsy Ridings, both of Middlesboro, Ky. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clifford and Verna Smith; and paternal grandparents, Howard and Fannie Ridings. Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials to Horizon Christian Academy.
