    Clarence Kegley age 92 of Russellville, Ohio passed away Saturday September 16, 2017 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, OH with his family by his side. He was born July 23, 1925 in Lewis County, KY the son of the late George Henry and Anna (Elliott) Kegley.

    Mr. Kegley was a farmer, township trustee, and entrepreneur (founder of the Brown County Speedway and the Midway Restaurant). He was a charter member of the Georgetown Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, trustee and treasurer. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the cabin he built in “Kegley Holler” and always looked forward to reuniting with family at the annual Kegley reunion each Labor Day. He was also a WWII veteran of the “Amphibious” Navy. He was aboard LST292 and landed at the invasion of Normandy in June 1944.

    Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Thelma M DeAtley Kegley and siblings Vada Rigdon, Dorthy Jester, Virginia Carpenter, Willard Kegley, Clyde Kegley, Ora Kegley and Elwood Kegley.

    Clarence is survived by 1 daughter; Donna Hickerson and husband Alfred “Jr.” of Russellville, 1 sister; Betty Jewel Crump of Tifton, GA, 1 grand daughter; Mechelle Geiger and husband Doug of Cincinnati, 2 great grandchildren Jared & Jordan Geiger and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Georgetown Baptist Church, 794 S. Main St., Georgetown, OH 45121 under the direction of the Meeker Funeral Home. Ron Garbutt will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Linwood Cemetery in Russellville with military services by the Southwest Ohio VFW Memorial Team. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 19, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Georgetown Baptist Church.

    Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Georgetown Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 794 S. Main St., Georgetown, OH 45121.
