Margaret was the daughter of Edward Williams and Susan Louisa Ridings Williams. They owned the Williams Hotel in Cooksville, Ill. Margaret married a second time to Isaac Benjamin Harness and they had several children. They were Clifford, Harry, and William. Margaret passed away Nov. 26, 1980 in Normal, Ill. Isaac is FAG #44358262.

Clifford "Ike" Harness

The funeral of Clifford "Ike" Harness, 74, of 1700 N. School St., Normal, retired electrician and amateur radio operator, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Brady Funeral Home, Bloomington. The Rev. Fred Belcher will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Harness, a McLean County native, died at 4:26 a.m. Monday (March 5, 1990) at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

He was born May 28, 1915, at Cooksville, a son of Isaac B. and Margaret A. Harness. He married Mary Dunn Spillman Nov. 9, 1963, at Galesburg. She died Oct. 6, 1985.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney Spillman, Minonk, and Edward Spillman, 205 W. Emerson St., Bloomington; one daughter, Liz Giarette, 1700 N. School St., Normal; two brothers, Bill, 1607 S. Center St., Bloomington, and Harry, Donalsonville, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Harness was an electrician for many years at Illinois State University and a 30-year member of Local 197 of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

In the early days of radio, Mr. Harness operated a radio station on Sunday afternoons at the Colonial Theater in Colfax. He continued his interest in radio as an amateur operator.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Harry Harness

The graveside service for Harry Newton Harness, 81, of Rt. 2 Box 120 Holy Isles, Donaldsonville, Ga., formerly of Bloomington, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, with Masonic services by the Bloomington Lodge No. 43. There will be no visitation. East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to an organization of the donor's choice.

He died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 9, 1999) at his residence.

He was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Cooksville, a son of Isaac B. and Margaret Williams Harness. He married Elverie Goehner on Aug. 16, 1980, in Georgia. She survives.

Other survivors include one stepdaughter, Karen Adams, Bainbridge, Ga.; one stepson, Wilson Zunz, Tampa, Fla.; one brother, William "Bill" Harness, Bloomington; and five step grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.

William Harness

Bloomington -- William "Bill" Harness, 77, of Bloomington died at 1:41 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 11, 2004) at Bloomington.

His memorial service and inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 at Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Bloomington. Melba Haggins will officiate. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, take your family out to lunch.

He was born Aug. 26, 1926, at Cooksville, a son of Isaac and Margaret Alice Williams Harness. Bill married Shirley J. Mills March 31, 1953, in Normal. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Anna Jean Lawrence, Weldon; a grandson, Samuel Lawrence, Weldon; a granddaughter-in-law, Danielle Murphy, Normal; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Anne Murphy, Normal.

His parents, a grandson, Jason Murphy; and two brothers preceded him in death.

He was a retired lineman with Illinois Power Co. after 38 years.

He was a member of Wade Barney Masonic Lodge 512.

He enjoyed short wave radios, fishing and NASCAR racing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all.
