    Delbert H. Hale, 82, Route 8, Keavy, died at 4:20 a.m. December 11 at his residence. A lifelong Laurel Countian, he was born Sept. 14, 1892, the son of Sidney and Alice Harville Hale. Mr. Hale was a retired carpenter and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
    He was married to the former Ida Meadows, who survives. Also surviving are three step-children, Clyde and Cecil Meadows, both of Dayton, Ohio; and Mrs. Cleo Storms, Corbin; four sisters, Maudie Reynolds, Keavie; Ruthie Johnson, Route 1, London; and Edith Hardin and Florence Anders, both of London; and three brothers, Hamp Hale, Loyall, Jim Hale, Route 1, London; and Bruce Hale, Mason, Ohio.

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the locust Grove Christian Church by Pastor J.D. Dobbs and Rev. Jack Bunch.
    Interment was in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Keavy.
    Rawlings Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.

    Edith B. Hardin

    Edith B. Hardin, age 87, of Sinking Creek Road, London, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2004, in London.

    Born February 5, 1917, in Whitley County, Kentucky, she was a cook at Marymount Medical Center and a member of the First Christian Church in London.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice (Harville) Hale and Sid Hale; her husband, Zack Hardin; and 14 brothers and sisters.

    Survivors include three daughters, Connie Wheeler of Richmond, Kentucky, Gaye Jones and Marsha Steelman, both of London, Kentucky; a son, Allen Hardin of Norfolk, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 19,a t the London Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Deaton and Patty Mancuso officiating. Burial followed in the Locust Grove Cemetery at Keavy, Kentucky.

    Pallbearers were B.J. Reid, Jason Steelman, Tony Jones, Josh Bullard, Scott Clark and Edward Mancuso.

    Dorothy Alice Allen, 91, of Louisville passed away Friday, December 18, 2015, following a long illness. Born September 17, 1924 in Harlan County, she had helped her brother at his Town and Country Green House in Rio Vista before moving to Louisville. She believed in the Baptist faith.

    Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Joe B. Allen and Pheba Hale Allen; and two brothers, William Keith Allen and James Allen.

    Survivors include two brothers, Sid Allen, Louisville; Kenneth Allen and wife, Jewell, Boston, KY; a sister-in-law, Vera Allen, Corbin; and nieces and nephews, Jeri Grant, Amy Medley, Steve Allen, Theresa Storck, Perry Allen, Jamey Allen and Joe Allen.

    Graveside services will be conducted at 1 pm Monday, December 21, 2015, at the Resthaven Cemetery Chapel.

    After High School he was drafted in to the Army. He served for two years overseas during WWII. Upon his return home he opened a cabinet shop making beautiful furniture. He met the love of his life when she walked by the shop going home from school. They married on Christmas Day in 1947 and stayed married 69 years. They lived in Louisville approximately 26 years after living in North Carolina a few years. They then moved to Boston, KY for the next 37 years.

    Kenneth was a hard working home builder for many years. He loved fishing and had great stories about the "big ones" he caught. He also loved his family dearly and loved God and his church, College Heights UMC.

    Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell; his grandson, Ethan; his step-grandson, Dustin; his parents, one sister and three brothers.

    He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Tom) Storck; two sons, Steve (Ava) Allen and Perry (Tresa) Allen; eight grandchildren, Clint, Heather, Kelli, Ian, Evan, Erin, Hunter, and Raquel; and eight great grandchildren.

    The funeral is at 12 p.m. Monday with Dean Whitaker officiating. Due to current state mandates the funeral will be for immediate family only. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.

    Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell; his grandson, Ethan; his step-grandson, Dustin; his parents, one sister and three brothers.

    He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Tom) Storck; two sons, Steve (Ava) Allen and Perry (Tresa) Allen; eight grandchildren, Clint, Heather, Kelli, Ian, Evan, Erin, Hunter, and Raquel; and eight great grandchildren.

    A special thanks to the Radcliff Veterans Center staff for their excellent care and love the past 3 1/2 years.

    The funeral is at 12 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home with Dean Whitaker officiating. Due to current state mandates the funeral will be for immediate family only and live streamed through the funeral home Facebook page. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.

    He leaves behind his loving wife of 76 years, Alma Arthur Hale; nine children, Brenda Reams, Linda Arnold & husband Luther, Roger Hale & wife Charlotte, Ronnie Hale & wife Sandra, Danny Hale & wife Debbie, Von Brock & husband David, Carol Begley & husband Denver, Lisa Benge & husband Wendell, Mark Hale & wife Deronda, all of London, KY; twenty-six grandchildren, fifty-two great grandchildren, seventeen great, great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Hale of London, KY; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wesley Hale and Virgie Anders Hale; four siblings, Curtis Hale, Gerlene Hale, Irene Galloway, Virginia Rockwell; two grandchildren, Eric Hale, Stephen Baker; one great grandson, Jesse Cobb.
    Dan enjoyed fox hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a professional tater peeler. He loved being with family and friends and playing music. Dan was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of Hightop Baptist Church.
    Funeral services for Dan Hale were held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Hightop Baptist Church. Burial followed at Hale Cemetery in London, Kentucky. Military honors were provided by the local DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy, Kentucky. The family entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.

    Wilma was a graduate of London (Ky.) High School. She was a member of Good Tidings Tabernacle and had attended Greencastle Grace Tabernacle.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul Eugene Galloway, and a son, Gary Galloway.

    Surviving are her children, Larry Galloway and wife Rhonda of Reelsville, Jerry Galloway and wife Missi of Gosport, Paula Patton and husband LeeRoy of Cloverdale, and Marla Sanders of Greencastle; two brothers, Dan Hale and wife Alma of London, Ky., and Jerry Hale and wife Colleen of London, Ky.; a sister, Virginia Rockwell and husband Ronald of London, Ky.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 at Greencastle Grace Tabernacle, 407 Percy L. Julian Drive, with Bro. Juston Galloway officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

    Robert “Bob” Lee Johnson, surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully in his home to be with our Heavenly Father on March 6, 2018.

    He was born in London, KY, on October 7, 1937, to the late Robert and Amanda Johnson. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Clinton and lived by example, the life of a Christian.

    In 1960, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country by scanning broadcasts to intercept secret codes. He was stationed primarily in the Aleutian Islands, AK, and at Fort Walters in Texas. He was honorably discharged in 1963.

    Following his U.S. Army service, he completed his college degree in electrical engineering from Indiana Institute of Technology.

    Bob retired in 1997 as a Deputy Director with the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, TN, where he was responsible for buying power for select DOE plants.

    He enjoyed fishing, kayaking, hiking, reading, watching westerns, and spending time with his family.

    He is survived by Eileen Johnson, his devoted wife whom he married on September 14, 1962, and shared 55 wonderful years together. He is also survived by: son, Robert Todd Johnson and his wife Tina; daughter, Tanya Calhoun and her husband Kelly; brother, Charles Johnson and his wife Jeanette; four grandchildren, Amanda and Alden Johnson, and Harrison and Matthew Calhoun; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

    The family will receive friends at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018, with the funeral service following. with the Reverends Mike Thompson and Ronnie Owens officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the building fund at Second Baptist Church, Clinton, TN.

    He had made his home in Norfolk, VA with his wife and best friend of 28 years Linda Hardin;
    two loving daughters, Kim (Jamie) Meharg and Denise Conrad;
    two beautiful grandchildren Brayden and Alyssa Meharg;
    three dear sisters, Gaye (Millard) Jones; Marsha (Jack) Steelman and Connie (Jack) Wheeler;
    best friends Bo (Alice) Mahon and their family; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
    In honor of his wishes he will be cremated without a funeral service because we love him so dearly, we carried out his wish.
    The family would like to extend our appreciation to everyone thinking of all of us at this time of great sorrow.
    Allan was an organ donor so he will live on.
