JONES, VIOLA MAYES - of Knoxville passed away April 1, 2010. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Claiborne County. Preceded in death by husbands, Harrison McCrary and Jess C. Jones; parents, Richard and Danie Shelton Mayes; brothers, Sherman, Virgil "Tobe" and Carl "Mouse", Ulys "Doc" Mayes and two infant brothers; sisters, Nell Marsee Mayes and Ethel Mayes. Survived by son, Tilbert "Wayne" McCrary and wife Judy of Lafollette; grandson, Richard McCrary and wife Pamela of Knoxville; granddaughter, Jeanna and husband Anthony Newport of Jacksboro, TN; three great-grandchildren, Noah Ray and Chantelle Newport of Jacksboro, TN and Jesse McCrary of Knoxville; special niece Helen and her husband James Hamilton and their daughter Jamie and husband Jason of Ohio; dear sister-in-law, Lula Mayes of Speedwell, TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; many friends at Sharon Baptist Church and the Baptist Center in Norwood where she enjoyed exercising. Special and dear friends who have cared and loved her very much and whom she loved like family: Carol Copeland, Judy Staggs and Joann Roberts. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 7 pm at the Halls Chapel of Mynatt Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Blazier officiating. Family and friends will meet Sunday at 1:15 pm at Greasy Hollow Cemetery in Claiborne County for interment at 1:30 pm.
