    E.W. (Roe) Warner, 97, of Jonesville, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (September 27, 2011) at his residence.

    A lifelong resident of Lee County, Virginia, he was a member of Flatwoods United Methodist Church and the Wynn Masonic Lodge #221 for over 60 years. He was a farmer and founder of Lee Tractor and Implement Company and Sunny Acres Recreation.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Byrd Newman Warner, his parents, John T. and Media Combs Warner; one granddaughter, Vicki Bledsoe Leytze; two brothers, Bill Warner and Joe Warner; and one sister, Gaynelle Bowen.

    Surviving are:

    Two sons: Billy H. Warner and wife, Mary Gene of Jonesville, Virginia and Jim Warner and wife, Linda of Pennington Gap, Virginia

    One daughter: Louise W. Bledsoe and husband, Ray of Jonesville, Virginia

    Eight grandchildren

    Twelve great grandchildren

    Nine great-great grandchildren

    One sister: Alice Roop of Kingsport, Tennessee

    Special friends: Patricia Burke, Joy Fox, Ann Cawood, and Jim Marshall

    Many nieces and nephews

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Jonesville, Virginia.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Dennis and Joy Fox officiating.

    Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Warner Cemetery in the Wallens Creek Community. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to services.
     

    Earnest married Nancy Byrd Newman on 15 Aug 1931 in Lee Co, VA. Nancy (daughter of Charles Campbell Newman and Rebecca Emma Jessee) was born on 29 May 1911 in Lee Co, VA; died on 7 Aug 2003 in Lee Co, VA; was buried in Lee Co, VA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Obituary for Billy H. Warner
    Billy H. Warner, 82, of Flatwoods Community, passed away and entered his eternal home, February 13, 2018. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Flatwoods Methodist Church.

    He was born in Lee County, November 18, 1935 to the late Ernest Woodroe and Nancy Byrd (Newman) Warner. He is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lana Kay; one brother-in-law, Ray Bledsoe; and one niece, Vicki Bledsoe.

    Billy and his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Gene, worked side by side for many years, running a dairy farm, a beef cattle farm and raising their family.

    In addition to his wife Mary Gene Warner, he is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Wayne) Marcum, Sandra (Gary) Vaughan and Billie (Buck) Eldridge, all of Jonesville; one sister, Louise Bledsoe of Jonesville; one brother, Jim (Linda) Warner of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Jessica Marcum, Stephanie Shuler, Sarah Vaughan, Jeremy Horton, Cody Napier, Faith Eldridge, Paige Eldridge, Tyler Vaughan and Patricia Marcum; great grandchildren, Jacob Marcum, Warner Shuler, Chance Napier, Calem and Aston Horton; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Louise Estes, Kathy Peters and Sherry Cope.

    The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 5 until 7:00 p.m. at Robinette Funeral Home in Jonesville, VA. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Richard Davis officiating.

    Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Warner Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. to travel in procession to the cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be Bucky Eldridge, Gary Vaughan, Wayne Marcum, Justin Marcum, Cody Napier and David “Spider” Combs.

    Jimmy Newman Warner, age 79, died August 5, 2020 at his lake home in Johnson City, TN. He was a loving husband and father.

    He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda (May) Warner, his son Jimmy Lynn of Pennington Gap, VA; his daughter, Pamela (Warner) and her husband is MacLaughlin of Pompano Beach, FL; his sister, Louise Bledsoe of Jonesville, VA.

    He was raised in Flatwoods, VA. He graduated from Milligan College with a B.S. Degree and he ETSU with a Master's Degree. He retired from the Lee County School System after 27 years.

    He enjoyed traveling, spending time on the lake, and many outdoor activities. He had a passion for building and enjoyed building homes and apartment buildings.

    He worked hard and played hard.

    Graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, August 8, 2020 in Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway at 2:00 pm with Pastor Paul Davis, JR officiating.

    Mullins-Sturgill Funeral Home of Pennington Gap is in charge of the arrangements.
