Drucilla Gross was the daughter of Jacob Gross and Mary Bledsoe.

Drucilla married Henry S Hale and they had 5 children that I know of: Walter, Tilman, Delfin, Margaret and Ida Hale.

Mrs. Drusilla Hale, 80, widow of H.S. Hale, died at 11:55 a.m. June 23 at her home in Marydell. A native of Leslie County, Mrs. Hale was born Feb. 28, 1883, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Bledsoe Gross.

Surviving are one daughter and two sons: Ida Pennington, Tuttle; Tilman Hale, Marydell and Delfin Hale, Cane Creek; two sisters: Mrs. Harrison Minton, Lake and Martha Hale, Corbin; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Shady Grove Baptist Church, of which she was a member, by the Rev. Bill George.

Interment followed in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Blackwater, by the House Funeral Homes.

Delfin Hale, 63, Morgan Street, London, died at 5:30 pm September 4 at his residence following an illness of
several years. Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm Saturday at the Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro.

Burial followed int he A.R. Dyche Memorial Park, London.
A native of Laurel County ,he was born December 17, 1911, the son of the late H.S. and Drucilla Gross Hale.
He was a former resident of the Blackwater Community and was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, the former Lennie Hughes; a daughter, Sheila Hale, London; a sister, Ida Pennington, Tuttle;
and one brother, Tilford Hale, Marydell.

Tilmon Hale, 91, Marydale Road, London, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, Ky. A Laurel County native, he was born Sept. 2, 1918, the son of Drucilla Gross Hale and Henry Hale. He was a retired farmer and state highway employee, a World War II Army veteran and member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Brown Hale; a son, Douglas Hale; a sister, Ida Pennington; and two brothers, Defin Hale and Walter Hale. Survivors include daughters, Patricia Cheek and husband, Paul, and Carolyn Lawson and husband, Rex, all of London; son, Monte Hale, of Somerset; daughter-in-law, Donna Hale, of London; six grandchildren, Deirdre Mays, Paul Douglas Cheek, Greg Cheek and Tennille Roberts, all of London, Darrin Hale, of Lexington, and O’Dail Lawson, of Georgetown; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today, Sept. 25, 2009, from 10 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral hour. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the London Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne House and Denny McCowan officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Blackwater. Pallbearers will be Darrin Hale, O’Dail Lawson, Paul Douglas Cheek, Greg Cheek, Chris Roberts and Denver Mays. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.

Ida H. Pennington, 80, of Barbourville Road, London, Ky, died Fri, Jan. 30, 2004, at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. Born February 6, 1923, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a retired teacher with the Laurel County Board of Education. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry S. Hale and Drucilla Gross Hale. Survivors include children, Diane Pennington of London, Ky, Marlene Pennington and husband Rogers Hunt of Louisville, James (Gloria Gray) Pennington, Benny (Ruth) Parman Pennington, and Barry (Carol Sparks) Pennington; brother, Tilmon Hale; grandchildren Anthony and wife Crystal Greer Pennington, Marlene Lyle Chaney McKenzie(David), and Adam Eric Pennington; and great-grandchildren Lauren Kate Prichard and Savannah Rhea McKenzie.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Darrin Keith Hale, 47, Lexington, Ky., formerly of Laurel County, Ky., passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Saint Joseph London.

Born June 19, 1966 in Corbin, Ky., he was the son of Donna (Swinford) Hale of London and the late Tilmon Douglas Hale.

He was a chief draftsman for Gate Precast and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father;
and grandparents, Tilmon and Ruby Brown Hale, and Frank Swinford.

He is survived by his mother;
sister, Deirdre Mays and husband, Denver, London;
nephew, Devin Douglas Mays, London;
and grandmother, Elwanda Brown Swinford, Winchester, TN.

The family of Darrin Keith Hale received friends at London Funeral Home on Sunday, July 7 from 12 noon until the 3 p.m. funeral service hour with Brother David Thomas and Brother Jamie Maxey officiating.

Burial followed in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Blackwater, Ky.
