Bloomington -- William "Bill" Harness, 77, of Bloomington died at 1:41 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 11, 2004) at Bloomington.

His memorial service and inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 at Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Bloomington. Melba Haggins will officiate. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, take your family out to lunch.

He was born Aug. 26, 1926, at Cooksville, a son of Isaac and Margaret Alice Williams Harness. Bill married Shirley J. Mills March 31, 1953, in Normal. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Anna Jean Lawrence, Weldon; a grandson, Samuel Lawrence, Weldon; a granddaughter-in-law, Danielle Murphy, Normal; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Anne Murphy, Normal.

His parents, a grandson, Jason Murphy; and two brothers preceded him in death.

He was a retired lineman with Illinois Power Co. after 38 years.

He was a member of Wade Barney Masonic Lodge 512.

He enjoyed short wave radios, fishing and NASCAR racing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all.
