SHELTON, AUSTIN - age 73 of Rutledge passed away at his home Jan. 31 2008, with his family by his side. He was a member of Indian Ridge Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Laura Shelton, Brother Eugene Shelton; sisters, Helen Harrell and Leona Neal.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Mrs. Shirley Shelton; son, Mike and Brenda Shelton; granddaughter, Shannon Shelton; grandson, Shawn Shelton, Brothers Wade and Ray Shelton of Rutledge, Parlon Shelton of Franklin; sisters, Mrs. Eula Tyler of Michigan, and Mrs. Jerleen Range of Rutledge, friends and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Saturday, February 2, 2008 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 8:00 P.M. The Rev. Hollis Dunsmore, and Rev. Rodney Dotson will be officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Indian Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mike, Gary, Larry, Lynn, Wesley, and Jeff Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be: Fred Allen, Jake Blair, Herman Doane, James (Buddy) Copeland, Eddie Bull, and Buddy Kerr.
