Daughter of the late John D. Sipple and Delphia (Wilson) Sipple. She was a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bates Jr., who passed away on February 25, 2001. Survivors include one brother, Ray (and Marie) Abbott, Science Hill; one sister, Maxine (and Lawrence) Kemper, Homosassa, Fla.
