The funeral of Elvin Barker, 62, was held at the Danforth Funeral Home, Roberts, with Dr. Robert Sabo officiating.

He was born July 16, 1912, at Cooksville, a son of Charles and Mollie Williams Barker. He married Vivian Williams at St. Charles, Mo., March 11, 1939.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Wendell Thackeray, Melvin; three grandchildren: a brother, Carl Barker, Cooksville.

A brother preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Sibley United Methodist Church.

He was a farmer and he served on the farm advisory board of the Champaign Production Credit Association at Gibson City and was a commissioner on the Lawndale and Cropsey Drainage Districts.
