She was born Oct. 2, 1911, in Cumberland Gap, Va., to the late William Coffman and Birtie Skaggs Coffman. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Corbin since 1931. She is preceded in death by her husband R.B. Tompkins. She is survived by a son, Walter Tompkins (Edna) of Greenfield, Ind., two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the McFarland Cemetery in Corbin with Rev. Earl Tye officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Corbin or your favorite organization.     Hospital Sept. 28, 2008. She was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Pennington Gap, Va.,
    to William Lee and Birdie Lee Skaggs Coffman and lived here most of her
    life. She retired as a unit clerk at Reid Hospital, and was a Navy veteran
    of World War II. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
    Survivors include her three sons, Daniel L., Brent D., and Bruce E.
    Richardson of Richmond; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one
    sister, Edith Tompkins of Corbin, Ky.; nieces and nephews. Her husband,
    Leroy Richardson, died May 19, 2004; and she is also preceded in death by
    her daughter, Deborah Richarson Klingman; and seven brothers and sisters are
    deceased.
    Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
    Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery with military rites by the Wayne County
    Veterans Council. Memorial contributions may be given to Circle U Help
    Center, 19 N. 13th St., Richmond, IN 47374; or Diabetes Foundation, 7363 E.

    Gladys Coffman, 76, of Mount Carmel, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Open Arms Care, Knoxville, TN. She was born in Lee County, VA. Gladys had been a resident of Mount Carmel most of her life.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Melva Coffman; sister, Nancy Brooks.

    Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Norma Greene, Knoxville, TN.; brother, Bruce Coffman Jr. and wife Susan; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

    The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2 pm in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Leander Ray officiating.

    The Graveside Service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Meditation. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

    Also surviving are two brothers Brent and Bruce Richardson of Richmond, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Deborah Klingman.

    Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Friday November 26, 2010 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, with Dwight Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery, with military rites by the Wayne County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call 11:00 AM to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
