Died:
Alfred 'Al' Capps, 79, of Suffield, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 29, 1990, following a long illness.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Mr. Capps had lived in the Suffield area since 1923. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in 1973 after 33 years of service. A member of First Freedom Baptist Church, Mr. Capps served during World War II with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Loyalty Lodge 645 F&AM, and a 32nd Degree Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn E. in 1975. He is survived by his wife, Alberta D.; three daughters; two sons-in-law; three sons and their wives; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Capps of California; plus many nieces; nephews; and friends.

Services in Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial in Hillside Memorial Park with Firestone VFW Post 3383 conducting military services.
