Born in Elizabethton, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Logan Carrier and Gertrude Jones Carrier.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Aubrey Coleman, and a son, Richard Logan "Dickie" Coleman.
Mrs. Coleman was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hickory. She enjoyed needlepoint, tennis and playing bridge. A loyal friend, her greatest pride was in being a great wife and mother.
She is survived by a son, Robert Edward Coleman, of Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the General Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 311 Third Ave. NE, Hickory, NC. Bass-Smith Funeral Home is serving the family of Geraldine "Gerry" Carrier Coleman.
