Died:
Jean D. Moore of Pennington Gap, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, TN after a brief illness. She was born in Scott County, VA on November 16, 1941 to the late William and Gladys Dishner. She was a graduate of Lynn View High School, and Lincoln Memorial University where she graduated in 1963 with a B.A. in English. Mrs. Moore was retired from the Lee County School Board. She taught English at Pennington High School and at Lee High. She volunteered for the Ladies Auxillary at Lee Regional Hospital. She was a member of The First Christian Church in Pennington Gap. Jean enjoyed teaching her many students in English and Journalism, traveling with friends, and cheering for the University of Tennessee Big Orange. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald L. Moore in 2007. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Todd Moore of Gray, TN, Anthony Lee Moore of Pennington Gap, VA. One brother, W.O. Dishner, Jr. of Gray, TN. Several nieces, nephews,cousins and a host of friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 1, from 5 until 7:00 p.m. at Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 in funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Richards officiating. Committal graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Kingsport. Those attending are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 11:45. Flowers will be accepted, the family suggest that memorials will be made to the First Christian Church 41481 West Morgan Avenue Pennington Gap, VA. Anthony Lee Moore, age 52, passed away at his residence on December 24, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald L. and Jean D. Moore. Anthony was born in Kingsport, TN on July 12, 1965. He was a 1983 graduate of Pennington High School. While in high school, he was a member of the football and baseball teams. Tony's greatest passion was to float area rivers fishing with his friends. He also loved to 4-wheel the various trails of Southwest Virginia. All his life, he loved camping and the outdoors. He was an avid Tennessee Football supporter. Tony also loved music of many types and attending live shows. He was a passionate person who would always help anyone who needed assistance. Tony had many family and friends who loved him and he will be greatly missed. Tony attended the First Christian Church of Pennington Gap. Tony is survived by his loving brother, Jeffery T. Moore of Gray, TN.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Mullins-Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap from 6 until 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Tony's life will be held at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Richards, Pastor of the First Christian Church officiating. Special music will be provided by Tilda Pope. Interment will be private.
