MORRISTOWN -- George L. Jeffers Sr., 71, of Mohawk, died Tuesday at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare.

He was a son of the late William Andrew Jeffers and Jenny Collins Jeffers and was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Survivors include his wife: Geraldine Jeffers; two sons: George L. Jeffers Jr. and Paul Jeffers; two daughters: Amanda Bowman and Amy Lambert; his grandchildren: Bobby "BJ' Johnson, Valene Jeffers, Kimberley Humbert, Selena Conkle, Alicia Standifer, Angel Bunch, Cheyenne Bunch, Alexis Shelton, Tiffany Sartain, Robyn Sartain, and Dylan Sartain; his great-grandchildren: Destiny Miller, Cheyenne Johnson, Dominick Jeffers, Damian Jeffers, Harley Humbert, and Shayla Humbert; his stepmother: Cressie Jeffers; three brothers: John Jeffers, Jimmy Jeffers, and Howard Jeffers; four sisters: Hilda Jeffers, Billie Carter, Janice Rutherford, and Sylvia Cain; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mayes Family Services, downtown chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Sammy Stockman will officiate.

Interment will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning in Mohawk Cemetery.
