Norwood, OH/Pennington Gap, VA Jack Lee Coffman, age 82, was born in the Stone Creek area of Lee County, VA on January 27, 1928. He passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, OH. He was a loving father, brother and friend that was loved dearly and will be sincerely missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Minnie Carter and one sister, Joanne Doss.
He is survived by his loving ex-wife, Bobbie Coffman of Norwood, OH, one son, Michael Coffman and wife Connie of Norwood, OH. Granddaughter, Michia Thiessen and husband Joe, Three great grandchildren, Billy, Cole, and Sarah of Dover, Delaware. One daughter, Robin Sand and husband Scott of Okeana, OH, grandaughter, Jillian Powers and husband Kevin, two great grandchildren,Payton and Autumn of West Chester, OH. One sister, Gay Anderson and husband Benny of Jonesville, VA, Three brothers, Ray Coffman and wife Vivian of Cincinnati, OH, Larry Carter and wife Dora of Pennington Gap, VA, Gene Carter and wife Glenna of Huntsville, AL, and many nieces nephews and close friends. Visitation will be from 11 until 1:00 p. m. Saturday, January 22, at Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, VA. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Kenneth Ellis officiating. Military Rights will be given by the Wise County Veterans Association and the VA National Gaurd Honors Team. Interment will be at Lee Memorial Gardens, in Woodway, VA.
