    EDITH E. SANDERS, 97, passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, with her family by her side. Her gentle spirit made all that knew her feel loved. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who enjoyed sewing and talking to family and friends. Surviving are her children, Joey (Barbara) Sanders III of Fort Wayne, Donald (Phyllis) Sanders of Pineville, Ky., Marion (Cherie) Sanders of Fort Wayne, Roger (Charmain) Sanders of Fort Wayne, Jerry Sanders of Fort Wayne, Betty Baker of Barboursville, Ky., Wanda Delores Smith of Fort Wayne, Mary Nelson of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Dollie (Harold) Onkst of Pineville, Ky.; daughters-in-law, Marlene Sanders of Arjay, Ky. and Evelyn Sanders of Pineville, Ky.; 33 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joey Sarle Sanders; parents, Theo and Rena Bennett; sons, Bruce and Rev. H. David Sanders; sons-in-law, Terry Nelson Sr. and Richard L. Smith; and daughter-in-law, Karen Bates Sanders. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
