    Robert Newman was a commercial real estate developer for 25 years. Earlier he was editor of Plane Talk, the newspaper of the Boeing Corporation, Wichita.
    Later he became reporter and promotions manager for the Kansas City Kansan from 1955-1958.
    A US Navy fighter pilot during the Korean War, he was a graduate of University of Kansas School of Journalism and a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
    He was Vice President of Broadway Area Association in 1985 and received its Ed Griff Memorial Community Award. He was a member of Indian Hills Country Club and the Village United Presbyterian Church. He was born in Sterling, Kansas and lived in the Kansas City area more than 30 years.
    Robert leaves a wife, Janis, a son, Frank Newman both of the home, two daughters Melinda Newman of the home and Julie Norton, Overland Park, mother Dorothy Newman and sister, Mrs. Lavonne Newman, both of Lawrence.
    Robert's cremains will be buried in the Sterling, KS Community Cemetery where Robert and Janis' youngest daughter Mary Roberta Newman, having died at birth, is buried.
