Services: 3:00 p.m. Saturday September 17, 2011 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Paul Minx. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday September 16, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

    She is survived by her sister, Lula Winterowd and her children; Richard and Audrey Young of Swisher, Virginia and Malcolm Scott of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Mary and Richard Flaig of Salome, Arizona and Lewis and Robin Young of Vinton. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, a daughter, Charlotte and two sisters, Lorraine and Maxine.

    Janice Mae (Winterowd) Hootman, 80, of Cedar Rapids, passed away February 7, 2023, following a brief illness.

    Visitation will be held on February 17, 2023, from 4-7pm at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Services will be held February 18, 2023, at 3pm at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

    Janice was born January 2, 1943, to George and Lura (Davis) Winterowd. She graduated from Jefferson High School.

    She married Wally Hootman on August 22, 1964. Janice gave 43 years of service to Rockwell Collins.

    She was in 3 bowling leagues up to the time of her illness. She loved attending Rose Bowls and listening to Elvis. When she wasn't caring for her family, she enjoyed playing slots and traveling.

    Janice was preceded in death by her son Tyson Hootman and brother Dean (Linda) Winterowd.

    Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, November 9, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.

    Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday November 8th also at the First United Methodist Church and visitation will continue for an hour before services Friday at the church. Memorials will be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

    Janice was born July 15, 1938, near Jesup, the daughter of Clifford William Comfort and Thelma Rose (Clime) Comfort. She graduated from Jesup High School in 1956. On April 20, 1958, she was united in marriage to Larry Lee Bohling at the First United Methodist Church in Jesup. Except for a short time after their marriage Larry and Janice lived in Jesup. Janice worked 20 years at Schares Grocery Store, and also over 20 years at the Buchanan County Courthouse in the Clerk of Court office. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jesup.

    Mrs. Bohling is survived by one son James (Shyann) Bohling of Jesup; three grandchildren, Devin (Becky) Bohling, Megan Bohling and Mason Bohling; two great granddaughters, Riley and Hailey Bohling; one sister, Jane (Ronald) Harting of La Porte City, IA; and a special friend, Richard Ortner of Jesup. Her parents, and husband Larry, preceded her in death.
