- ROSSON, MR. CARL E. - age 84, of Halls, passed away 6:55 a.m. Sunday, September 16, 2001. He was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church, Maynardville. Preceded in death by wives, Birchie Tolliver Rosson and Magnita Dyer Rosson; parents, Mell and Frances (Collins) Rosson; sisters, Edna Morgan and Oma MaCann. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Marie Rosson of Morristown; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Hollis Herrell of Halls; six grandchildren and spouses, David and Brenda Rosson, Judy and Jack Green, Patty and Scottie Long, Kenny and Barbie Herrell, Vickie and Dwight Killion, Bill and Angela Herrell; 11 great-grandchildren, Courtnie, Coby and Dylan Rosson, Megan and Preston Green, Erika Long, Holden and MacKenzie Herrell, Daniel, Samuel and Sara Killion; brothers, Billie Rosson, Lawrence Rosson and Elder Claude Rosson, and sister, Eula Gray Cupp, all of New Tazewell; special uncle, Dewey Collins, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Carl's caregivers, Kathy, Debbie and Melinda. Funeral services 11 a.m. Tuesday, Cooke Mortuary Chapel, with Elder Roger Rhodes and Elder John Robbins officiating. Interment in Union Church Cemtery, Maynardville. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandson-in-law. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Monday, Cooke Mortuary, Maynardville.
